Mornin’, all! We’re trying a new, space-agey background for this week’s three minute update, and the countdown clock is on! Will this be less than three minutes? I bet you know the answer!
In this week’s three minute update we have: Cub Haunted, Camporees, ACE resources, training resources, Scouting for food updates, and Scout Shop sales.
If you need recruitment materials, remember to use our Membership Resources Request form to request flyers, school talks, printed materials, giveaways, and anything else you need for your recruitment efforts this fall! On a related note, we’ve had some technical difficulties with our recorded webinars explaining our recruitment resources for this fall. Those glitches are fixed, and you can watch the recordings at the same link.
Shoutout to Packs six fifty-two, twenty-eight, sixty-seven, thirty thirty-one, and Troop 143 for submitting their Scouting for Food results. These units alone collected and donated over 1200 lbs of food! If you have completed Scouting for Food, or will soon, please use this link to record your results. Let Michelle Cali know if you have any questions.
Here’s a new ACE Update, everyone! If new families register online, their online receipt of registration fees paid is what they’ll use to submit to their ACE portal. If a family pays you, the unit, with cash or check, there is a fillable document that the Unit Leader must sign and give to the family for reimbursement to ACE. You can find that form here. Learn more about ACE by going to lecbsa.org/ace.
Those needing BALOO training and Scoutmaster Basic Training can also register here: courses are scheduled for September and October. You can contact me with your questions!
You can register now for in-person trainings for your positions! Send me any questions. You can also tell me if you’re interested in being a trainer for these courses.
There will be a lifeguard training at Firelands on September 10th. You have to be at least 15 to take the training, and if you’d like to renew your certification, you still have to demonstrate your skills and pass the written test. Questions go to Jess Weaver.
Fall Camporees are upcoming at Beaumont and Firelands, and there’s still time to register! Send Questions to Anthony. Beaumont’s are September 15-17, and Firelands are October 6-8. Webelos Woods campouts will be held in conjunction with the camporees at Firelands and Beaumont, as well.
Cub Haunted registration is now open! Those looking to attend can sign up now! And register soon, especially if you’re looking to reserve a Troop Lodge, because they’re almost all booked already! Troop members interested in helping at Cub Haunted can contact Jess.
Troops interested in camping this fall should register for the Fall Camporee at Firelands happening October 6-8. The early bird deadline is only a month away, so sign up and send Jess your questions!
Rangemaster training is upcoming October 13th. Register here, and email Julia with questions.
Lastly, folks, know that the Cleveland Scout Shop has some swingin’ deals for you! Through October 29th, you can save 10% off uniform bottoms when you purchase a top!
And that’s a wrap for this week’s three-minute update! Thanks for all you do and thanks for being you!
