Camperships

The Lake Erie Council believes that no Scout should be denied access to great program due to financial need. A Scout is Thrifty, so we do encourage a Scout to show that he is working to earn his way to camp, a training, or activity, but sometimes it's not quite enough.

Through the generous donations from supporters of Scouting, we a proud to offer camperships and scholarships to those in need to attend Summer Camp, trainings, and High Adventure programs.

For some events, like summer camp and wood badge, the campership application is built into the event registration. At the bottom of an attendee section, just check the box to indicate that you are applying for financial assistance from the Council. Your name must exactly to the campership application you submitted online. If you haven't yet submitted an application, you can fill it out right then to have it linked to your registration.

By requesting a campership at the time of registration, we apply a pending payment to the registration. When the committee meets to distribute funds according to need, if your application is approved, the pending payment will become permanent and do not have to pay the money up front.

Campership applications do require Unit Leader approval, so make sure you communicate with them that you will be requesting funds. We reach out to Unit Leaders prior to the Campership Committee's deliberation to get more information about Unit need.

Check out each campership and scholarship application below. Online submission is preferred, but you may also print out the application, complete it in full, and then send it to the Unit Service Center at 2241 Woodland Ave, Cleveland, OH 44115.
