LEC 3 Minute Update - June 29, 2023

Mornin’, all! Thanks for tuning in to this week’s three minute update! It is a beautiful day at Beaumont Scout Reservation. I have an equally beautiful 3 Minute Update for you this week. Let’s dive right in:

We have activities updates, training updates, and service updates.

In community service news, Scouting for Food allows Scouts to leave pre-printed door hangers in their community and return the following Saturday to collect non-perishable food donations for the food bank of the unit’s choosing. Units can request door hangers and patches for participation at this link. While this can be done any time of year, we highly encourage folks to participate this August. Send Michelle your questions.

In the world of Cub Scout activities, it’s not too late to register for the July session of S’more Cub adventures. We also have a Fishing Derby, Rocket Day, Lake Erie Crushers, Lake County Captains, and a Silver Screen Overnighter on the calendar for August. Sign up now, and check the council calendar for further information!

The Annual Ride for Scouting is August 20th, and is a great opportunity to give back to Scouting while enjoying a scenic ride through Ashtabula County on your motorcycle. Register here, and send your questions to Jason Setser.

In the world of training, there is much coming up! Membership Growth and Product Sale Trainings will be held this July, and they’re full of the best practices to help grow Scouting in your neck of the woods. Register here, and send Mike your questions.

Range Safety Officer Training is happening this July at the Unit Service Center, and Rangemaster Training is next upcoming on August 6th at Firelands. These trainings are different! Check out the links for further info, and send questions to Julia Hearne.

BALOO training and Scoutmaster Basic Training also have sessions upcoming this August and September: register now and send me your questions!

Additionally, if you’re a Cub Scout Leader, or serve on a Committee in the Pack or Troop, the Lake Erie Council is proud to offer in-person trainings for your positions! Sessions are currently scheduled in Norwalk, Painesville, Parma, and Fairview Park, and more are coming soon! Send me your questions about this, and register today!

Additionally, if you’re interested in helping be a trainer for any of these courses, we’d be happy to work with you! Send me your interest.

There’s an OA Summer Induction Weekend at Beaumont this August: new Arrowmen can register here, and questions can be directed to Sean Fahnestock.

Folks, that’s a wrap for this week’s three minute update! Thanks for all you do and thanks for being you! We’ll see you next week, take care!
