LEC 3 Minute Update – February 10, 2022

Mornin, all! And welcome to this week's 3-minute update: this week we're in Las Vegas! It's going to be 76 and sunny today, which makes it a beautiful day to catch up on your scouting news! I'm Jake Brown after a really successful diet, lots of tanning, and in need of a haircut, and here's what you need to know this week.

We've got updates on Roundtable, Scout Shop Sales, Sap Camp, Camp Staff, the upcoming Catholic Scouters' retreat, and this week's recognition spotlight.

Roundtable continues tonight at 7PM at Beaumont Scout Reservation and next Thursday at a new location: Mayfield United Methodist Church in Chesterland. We will continue to have a virtual option on Wednesday and Thursday next week. Check the council calendar for the Zoom link.

The Cleveland Scout Shop has sales on select Eagle Scout Merchandise for 20% off. So fly like an eagle over here to downtown, because the sale's gone by February 19th.

Sap Camp is still coming March 5th. Join us to learn how to tap a tree  and what it takes to boil all the sap down to make our delicious Scout’s Own syrup. Don't get stuck with late registration fees: sign up today! Send Grace Prorok your questions.

Need a job this summer? Want to be able to walk to work each day? Can't get enough Beaumont meals in just one week? Then turn in your application to be a camp staff member today! They're available on our website, contact Anthony Dworning with questions.

Catholic Scouters are welcome to attend a retreat of reflection, hosted by the Diocese of Cleveland and their Committee on Catholic Scouting, on Feb 27th at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Cleveland. A fee of $5 will be accepted at the door to cover the cost of lunch: please email clecatholicscouting@gmail.com with any questions and to RSVP.

And lastly, this week's recognition spotlight. These shoutouts come from Pack 68 in Lakewood, and are for the following Den Leaders: Wendy Cox, Kerissa McKay, Joan French, Mary Dodge, Matt Lucas, and Laura Westfield. All of you put your heart and soul in to making den meetings fun and active for the families in your dens, and we appreciate the extra effort it’s taken over the last couple years to continue making that possible. We also recognize that each of you holds more positions and responsibilities in the Pack than Den Leader, for which we are grateful.

You are all the heartbeat of the Scouting movement here and now, and on behalf of Pack 68, the Scouts in your dens, and the Lake Erie Council, we say thank you for all you, and thanks for being you.

That applies to everyone watching, of course, but remember that I can't spotlight anyone if you don't tell me about them! So nominate some folks for a shoutout by emailing me today! We'll get them recognized accordingly.

That's a wrap for this week! I’m Jake Brown and we'll see you next time!
