LEC 3 Minute Update - August 11, 2022

Mornin’, all! And thanks for tuning in to this week’s 3 minute update! This week I’m in Parma! Ohio’s 7th largest city is also home to some of the most notable ethnic churches in the area, including St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church, home to some of the best kielbasa and pierogi dinners, and the Greater Cleveland Shiva Vishnu Temple, spiritual home to the Hindu population of the area. Stop by the Make Believe Family Fun Center and the West Creek Reservation is definitely worth a visit!

Okay, this week in Scouting you should know about:

-upcoming training opportunities, the fall unit funding sale, Stewards of Firelands, Wilderness Engineers, Scout Shop Updates, and some cool upcoming camping opportunities!

First, the Firelands Trading Post and Scout Store has some great camp branded zip up hoodies and tees. Stop by Friday from 5-9 or Saturday 10-4 to get yours!

If you have given to the Stewards of Firelands before and have not received a letter in the mail inviting you to this year’s event, contact Danny Thomas as soon as you can! We want to see you September 12th for a strong showing in support of camp!

Now for this week’s fun fact: why hasn’t the sun gone to college? Because it already has a million degrees!!

Oh, that’s beautiful!

Folks, there is still the chance to learn about the popcorn/syrup sale this fall, in addition to recruitment best practices! We are hosting a virtual meeting on August 16th from 7-745 pm, and anyone who hasn’t made it to one of our in person sessions should plan on attending! Follow this link to register. Lastly, everyone participating in Scouting for Food has until Monday to email me what address they’d like patches and door hangers delivered to, in addition to register for the drive at all! Registration is here, and you can email me with any questions.
