Welcome to the 3-Minute Update live from Beaumont Scout Reservation! I am Jake Brown.

Today in the update we have: Wood Badge, Silver Screen, Scout Resident Camp, Cub Scout Opportunities, and Popcorn and Syrup Sale Sign ups.

Are you looking to improve your listening skills, management, leadership skills, team development, coaching and mentoring? You can learn and improve on all these skills and more through the Wood Badge Leadership Course. There are still slots available: please register now at this link and let joelbussman@gmail.com know if you have any questions.

Watching this summer’s biggest blockbusters are just one click away by registering for this Saturday’s Silver Screen Overnighter at Atlas Cinema in Eyria. You can watch movies like Jurassic World 3, Lightyear, and Elvis. You can register until 11:59 PM this Friday at this link.

If that sounds exciting wait till you hear what is happening out at Scout Resident camp. We kicked off our summer season this week and have some fun new things happening like our new glow party

Are your Scouts a little too young for Resident camp? Don’t worry we have some great opportunities for our Cub Families too! If you missed the sign-up deadline for this weekend’s S’More Cub Adventures, don’t worry you have a second chance to get out to Firelands with your family for the fun on July 21st thru the 24th? Sign up at  this link now. Send jlweaver1998@gmail.com your questions. Also, this fall mark your calendar for our Cub Haunted weekends starting October 7th.

We also are welcoming families to participate in the Lake Erie Crushers Overnight on August 12-13. You can register at this link. The Lake County Captains are also welcoming Scouts out for an overnighter August 13-14. You can register at this link. Both events welcome Scouts to sleep on the field, enjoy the game, and fireworks!

Not interested in sleeping on a baseball field? That’s ok. Join us for Rocket Day on August 13th at the Lorain County Fairgrounds. Families can build rockets at home and bring them out to the fairgrounds and watch them launch! You can purchase rocket kits at the Cleveland Scout Shop. Register at this link.

With all these awesome opportunities available, we want to make sure you can fund your adventures! Sign up for the Unit Funding sale this fall at this link. This year we are combining the popcorn and Scout’s Own syrup sale. Sign up early for details and opportunities with the sale!

While Scouting is fun and you get to experience some amazing things like we have outlined, a Scout has a Duty to Others too. This August and all fall we are collecting food for those in need. Scouting for Food will take place August 20th thru August 27th. You can sign up to participate at this link. Reach out to Michelle Cali if you have any questions or are interested in starting food drive through your school.

And that’s a wrap for this week everyone! I hope you’re staying safe and cool, and Jake will see you all next week! And if you are headed out to Beaumont, I can’t wait to meet you!
