WEC Regular Registration Period Is Now Open, What Does That Mean?

Now that the campsite deposit phase has ended, the regular registration period is open for Webelos Exploration Camp. Here's what that means for packs and families.

Any pack can also start using the Parent Portal to make collecting payments from families easy. We highly recommend it!

Packs Who Already Made a Deposit

To reserve your campsite, you made an estimation for the number of campers you'll bring to WEC. You can now update and confirm those numbers -- including reducing them with no penalty. Upon confirmation, a $25 payment for any scout camper will be due. This is the only additional payment necessary until full payment is due (May 1 to get the early bird pricing, or at least two weeks before your arrival to avoid a late fee). Don’t forget that the $200 deposit for your campsite goes toward your final balance, and can be applied for those $25/scout payments.

After confirming your attendance, you will still be able to add additional campers, but to cancel them will require contacting the camp director, and is subject to our council cancellation policy.

Packs Starting a New Registration

If you’re starting a new registration for Webelos Exploration Camp, don’t worry, you’ll still be able to provide your campsite selection preferences. For regular registration, you only need to put down a deposit of $25 per Scout to book your spot. Additional campers can always be added to your registration, but to cancel campers after confirming them with that $25 deposit will require contacting the camp director, and is subject to our council cancellation policy.

This also works great for a parent and pal registration when the scout is unable to attend with their pack, and instead registers to attend camp with their parent. Rather than making a $200 deposit for a campsite, just $25 gets them booked.

Why the Separate Registration Periods?

The reason there is a campsite deposit phase and a regular phase is to give packs who know they want to attend camp the opportunity to book their spot early, even if they don’t know exactly how many campers will attend. They can choose their favorite campsite and give an estimate on attendance with just that $200 deposit.

However, a singular Webelos Scout and parent doesn’t need to reserve a whole campsite for themselves, and may not be able to pay the full camper fee up front. That’s why starting March 1, registrations can be made with just that $25 deposit which allows for a family to make payments over time.
