The Lake Erie Council believes that no Scout should be denied access to great program due to financial need. A Scout is Thrifty, so we do encourage a Scout to earn their way to camp, but sometimes it’s not quite enough. That’s why, through the generous gifts of many donors, the Lake Erie Council is proud to offer camperships to Scouts in need.
Here’s how they work:
A Scout interested in camp should register for the program. Both Adventure Camp and Webelos Exploration Camp require no more than a $25 deposit per Scout.
The family should apply for a campership on our website to explain their situation, which camp the Scout plans to attend, and how much of a campership that they request.
Campership deadline extended to April 15th. The sooner you apply, the better!
The campership committee reviews all requests and grants as much campership funds as it reasonably can.
The family and unit are notified of the campership granted, and then the campership amount is applied toward that Scout’s registration. (This is why the Scout must be registered for camp already – otherwise the campership cannot be matched.)
If the campership granted exceeds the balance due for that Scout, the difference will be refunded back to the family or Pack, whoever made the payment.
