Hey everyone! I’m Tyler Matthews coming to you live from Beaumont Scout Reservation where we are just 6 weeks away from summer camp! The weather is beautiful, and we’re excited to see this place bustling with some Scouters real soon! With that, let’s get into this week’s news.
The council-wide pinewood derby and Swings N’ Things overnight event is happening on Saturday, June 8th . The price is $25 and the first 100 scouts to register get a patch to commemorate the event. In addition to the pinewood derby, campers will get access to Go-karts, batting cages, mini golf, and the arcade. register now, and you can contact Julia Hearne with any questions.
Calling all Scouting Influencers! Join us Thursday, May 23rd at 6 PM for an evening of fellowship focused on our work in growing Scouting in NE Ohio! You can register now and send your questions to Michelle.
A quick update to the change in membership fees. The new price of $85 for youth and $65 for adults will now be taking place on May 1st, instead of April 1st as previously announced. However, the $25 new member is no longer in effect.
Wood Badge registration is still open, and spots are filling up! Sign up quickly to reserve your spot.
ILST, or Intro To Leadership Skills for troops, is a training for youth scouts with leadership roles in their units, and it is happening May 18th at Beaumont Scout Reservation. There are only a few spots left, so get signed up today!

May 13th is this year’s Stewards of Firelands event! Please help us with your pledge of membership. Become a steward by pledging your $100 tax-deductible donation towards our pot from which we will spend on important improvements for our Scouts at Firelands. Send your question to Jess Weaver.
While I know it may not feel like it, the summer weather is right around the corner, and you know what that means…. S’MORE CUB ADVENTURES! Registration is open for weekend 1 and weekend 2, but this year we’re also adding 2 new weekends! July 12th-15th is S’more Webelos adventures, specifically designed for Webelos and AOL’s, as well as Scout BSA S’mores August 2nd- 5th where troops can come to earn merit badges and experience all the fun of Summer camp.
