Hey everyone! I’m Tyler Matthews coming to you from week 3 of summer camp at Beaumont Scout Reservation. Lots of great news this week, so let’s get right into it!
Despite enjoying this beautiful summer weather, it’s already time to start thinking about all the things happening this fall! Fall kickoff meetings are starting soon in a neighborhood near you. July 24th in Ohio City, July 25th in Solon, July 31st in Shaker Heights, August 1st in both Parma and Mentor, and August 3rd at Firelands Scout reservation. More information will be released in the coming weeks, but for now, you can reach out to your Unit Service Executive with any questions.
Popcorn is also right around the corner! If your unit has not committed to this year’s popcorn sale yet, now is the time! To register for the sale and to see dates for popcorn trainings head over to lecbsa.org/popcorn. Additionally, if your unit did not sell popcorn last year, but is thinking about getting back into it this year, reach out to Heather for a special offer.
It’s time for our annual Scouting for Food drive! Over 2 weekends in August, scouts will ask the community to donate food for our local food pantries! Door hangers will be available using the link on the council calendar, and patches will be available soon. Reach out to Chelsea with any questions.
The CLE Flag Project invites artists, designers, and Greater Cleveland community members to submit flag designs that capture the city's unique pride and spirit in a contest for a new city flag. Submissions are open and will be accepted online or via mail until July 19. The top three finalists will receive $1,000 each, with the winner receiving an additional $2,000. For more information, visit CLEflag.org
The Adventure Lab Fall Program Guide is now LIVE! Check it out at CLEadventurelab.org! You can also sign up for our Summer Badge Lab series, offering over 2 dozen different badges in July and August, through the calendar link on CLEadventurelab.org!
The FEST is happening on Sunday, August 4th. Volunteers are needed to help with the mobile climbing wall, scouting activities, and the evening mass procession. Register at theFEST.us and send your questions to Anthony DaFonseca.
That’s it for this week, happy 4th of July everyone! Until next week, stay prepared, stay adventurous, and keep the spirit of Scouting alive!
