Congratulations to Bay Village Sea Scout Ship 41 on winning the U.S. Coast Guard Ready for Rescue Challenge. The ship created a detection kit to help those in the water.
The detection kit is an aluminum-coated kite that reflects Coast Guard radar and can be seen above waves from five to seven miles away. It clips onto a lifejacket in a pouch and can also help retain body heat if used as a head covering.
Ship 41 received a five thousand dollar prize, great job Sea Scouts!
